Didactical activity

The study visits organized to Piora allow students to make a real exercise in environmental education and the various groups are in place the necessary material for educational activities in the field of natural and environmental sciences.

On this type of activity provides the message of institution: "a concrete collaboration between the Canton Ticino and the Swiss universities, is now integrated in the guidelines on cultural policy of the Canton Ticino." And also "The CBA will be staffed by regular refresher courses for teachers of middle and cantonal high schools".

University internship

The "stage" the university is conceived as a weekly time to attend a specific region in full respect of nature, combining many activities which at first glance may seem even contradictory, as in the case of Val Piora: the frequency or nature tourism, science, the pasture (which according to ancient documents either on Piora Alps more than eight centuries), tourism respectful of nature, the use of hydroelectric power, the type of fishing and hunting, military exercises.

Specialized courses

We also perform specialized courses for professionals already working professionally, such as tour operators in the mountains, and refresher courses for teachers of every type of school from elementary to university.

Education Trail

The trail of the lake allows hikers to get into Ritom Val Piora through a rich natural and historical information.
It starts from the dam of Lake Ritom along the eastern flank of the valley to the CBA, through Hut Cadagno.

Lago Ritom educational trail

The didactic path of Lake Ritom allows the hiker to enter the Val Piora through a path full of historical and naturalistic information. The route starts from the Lake Ritom dam along a flat path on the left side of the valley until reaching the CBA.

The CBA offers groups and schoolchildren the opportunity to be accompanied along the path, including a visit to the laboratory of the Center (total duration approximately 3-4 hours).

Lago Cadagno microbiological trail

The path, dedicated to microbiology, allows the hiker to observe the presence of microbes with the naked eye (bacteria, algae, fungi) thanks to the effects of their activity. The route starts from the CBA and winds around Lake Cadagno.

The CBA offers groups and schoolchildren the opportunity to be accompanied along the route, including a visit to the laboratory of the Center (total duration approximately 2 hours).
